Revision as of 04:41, 31 October 2021

Not available on SwitchThe Grand Tour is a feature of Descenders, introduced on October 28, 2021.

The Grand Tour is a series of optional missions that can be completed to acquire rare Developer gear sets. These missions are split into various groups, with each group being called a "tour". Tours gradually increase in difficulty, and they have to be completed in order before the next tour can be worked on.

Whenever a mission is completed, a green pop-up will appear indicating which mission was completed. 5 missions have to be completed in a set to unlock the next set. Each completed mission will award a random Item. The first two tours will award a random common item each, the next two will award a random uncommon item each, and so on until the last two tours award a random extraordinary item each.

Note, however, that should a player already own all items in a certain rarity, they may not receive anything upon claiming the reward. The player may still receive an item if there are still any items in a lower rarity left to obtain. (For example, should the player be rewarded a Rare item while already having all Rare items, they may instead be rewarded an unobtained Uncommon or Common, if there are any left to unlock.)

Completing each tour awards two pieces of the Developer Gear set mentioned in the name of the tour.

List of Tours

This is a list of all tours, listed in the order that they are unlocked.

Note: Some challenges can be completed retroactively; these are indicated with a 'Y' for 'Yes'. Challenges that cannot be completed retroactively are indicated with a 'N' for 'No'.

Note: The challenges for some objectives relating to getting a specific trigger from a stunt may be iffy. Restart the map from the beginning using the button prompt (or reload the entire map) and try again.

The No More Robots Amateur Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the No More Robots Helmet and Goggles.

To The Window! To The Wall! Have you found the castle miniboss in Highlands yet? Try getting low and exploring it N This requires the specific miniboss where you can perform up to 3 tricks. Instead of going up the ramp (leading to King of the Castle), go to the side, jump through the hole in the obstacle, then bike through the next hole in the obstacle. You need to get both tricks specified in the mission name. Restart the node from the beginning and try again if it does not immediately trigger.
Dirt Jump Time in Dyfi Valley Jump the dirt tracks at Dyfi Valley! You can find Dyfi by selecting Ride, and the Bike Parks menu from the pause screen N From the start, steer to the right, cut through the grass, and follow the path until you see the dirt jumps in the distance. Jump the ramp directly before them to trigger 'Hit the Dirt' and complete the challenge.
Get 10,000 Rep REP Up! Earn REP by playing through Career Mode by yourself or with friends Y Tied to Carving a Path. Simple to earn and won't take you too long.
Reach The Top of Construction Site Explore the Highlands thoroughly, and you may just find a secret bonus node... But can you reach the flag at the top? N Can be done in Freeride. If doing in Career, make sure to bring enough lives into the node. Self-explanatory; watch a video guide if you're having problems with any section.
The Training Was Worth It Choo choo! Jump over the Highlands boss train, and land it Y Tied to the achievement of the same name. Self-explanatory.
I Want To Break Free Ride to the edge of the lobby area, and see what happens when you try to escape... N If this does not immediately trigger, you may need to bike to a different section of the lobby and ride to that edge.
Ride For A Team See those team nodes on the map? Choose the same team three times, and they'll invite you to join their crew Y Tied to It Begins. Self-explanatory.
Unlock Shortcut To Forest Timbeer! In Career Mode, finish the Highlands boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Forest for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.

The Power Up Audio Amateur Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the Power Up Audio Helmet and Goggles.

Get 5000 Rep In A Single Combo At Mega Ramp Explore the forest thoroughly, and you may just find a secret bonus node... But can you score a 5000 REP combo? N Can be done in Freeride. If doing in Career, make sure to bring enough lives into the node. Self-explanatory; watch a video guide if you're having problems figuring out how to string your combo together.
BikeOut! Can you beat BikeOut? Select it from the Bike Parks menu, and prepare to scream. Don't forget you can set session markers! N The BikeOut maps are notoriously challenging. Video guides can assist with getting past tricky sections. As the prompt suggests, don't be afraid to abuse manual session markers where possible; just be careful about setting a session marker in a terrible position and having to restart from the beginning as a result. Try using the Enduro bike for this one.
Change Your Bike Type Once you've signed with a team, go to The Shed and hit X to try out the different bike types! N Self-explanatory. The button prompt for this can be seen in the bottom left.
Try The Daily Challenge You only get one shot! Try Daily Challenge Mode, and see how high you can reach up the leaderboards N Self-explanatory.
Create A Custom Level In Free Ride Mode Go to Free Ride Mode, and create a custom level to ride through. Make it ridiculous! N Self-explanatory.
Get 25,000 Rep Absolutely REPed! Earn REP by playing through Career Mode by yourself or with friends Y Self-explanatory. If you can reach 10,000 Rep, you can definitely reach 25,000 Rep.
Set A Session Marker Did you know you can set respawn markers? Go to your favorite bike park, then press [buttons!] to set a marker anywhere you like N Self-explanatory. The exact keybinds for setting a respawn point can be found in the options menu, depending on control scheme.
Unlock Shortcut To Canyon On a rampage! In Career Mode, finish the Forest boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Canyon for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.

The Liquicity Amateur Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the Liquicity Helmet and Goggles.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
Stoker Air Select Stoker Bike Park from the Bike Parks menu, then get 3 seconds of consecutive air time at Stoker (and land it!) N A possible way to achieve this is by riding the Whiplash trail.
Wheelie Good Time Wheelie for a full 5 seconds! Pull back on the left stick as you set off, then tap up and down to keep your balance. Keep practicing, you can do it! N This can be challenging for new players. You can attempt to do this in Free ride with the Wheelie Balance crew member; else, just find a nice map with a long and flat stretch. (You might need to stop the wheelie after 5 seconds have passed for the mission to trigger as complete.) Try your best!
Bail Through The Finish Line Crashing through the finish line is still winning, right? Y Tied to Flying Finish. Either try to crash on an obstacle so you have enough momentum from the crash to cross the finish line with your rider - or press the button combination to manually bail directly before the finish. On a controller, this will be LT + RT + push down both sticks.
Back At The Ranch Explore the Canyon thoroughly, and you may just find a secret bonus node... But can you beat all the bonus objectives there? N Can be done in Freeride, but you'll have to manually keep track of which of the three objectives you have completed (click the Ranch link for more details). If doing in Career, make sure to bring enough lives into the node. Self-explanatory; watch a video guide if you're having problems with any objective.
Get 50,000 Rep Found your flow! Earn REP by playing through Career Mode by yourself or with friends Y Tied to Found Your Flow. Self-explanatory. Again, if you reached 25,000, then 50,000 should be no problem.
Get A Haircut Looking a bit scruffy there, champ. Go to The Shed, visit the customization tab, and find a new style Y Self-explanatory. If you already changed your hairstyle, this can retroactively trigger as complete; else, just change it again.
Tunnel Vision At The MegaPark Have you found the secrets lurking beneath the MegaPark? Select MegaPark from the Bike Parks menu, and get exploring! N You'll have to explore the underground drain section of the map until you find the correct opening to jump out of. When you succeed, you'll see the prompt 'Tunnel Vision' pop up in orange letters below. NOTE: a strange obscure bug exclusive to this map means that there will be no pop-up for any missions completed in the MegaPark; check the mission list to see if it triggered.
Unlock Shortcut To Peaks At your peak! In Career Mode, finish the Canyon boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Peaks for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.

The RageSquid Amateur Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the RageSquid Helmet and Goggles.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
BikeOut! Again! Remember the pain of BikeOut? It's time to select BikeOut 2 from the Bike Parks menu, and cry all over again N The BikeOut maps are notoriously challenging. Video guides can assist with getting past tricky sections. As always, don't be afraid to abuse manual session markers where possible; just be careful about setting a session marker in a terrible position and having to restart from the beginning as a result. Try using the Enduro bike for this one.
Descenders On The Moon Explore the Peaks thoroughly, and you may just find a secret bonus node... But can you collect the letters of DESCENDERS? N Can be done in Freeride. If doing in Career, make sure to bring enough lives into the node. Self-explanatory; watch a video guide if you're having problems with any letter. Some are trickier than others!
Made It Beat the Peaks boss jump to complete Career Mode! Great job, but your Descenders story has only just begun... N Self-explanatory. If you can wait to complete this, you can potentially knock this out and a later challenge at one go...
We Love You Go to Redeem Code in the Options menu, and enter code LOVE. There are loads of other codes to discover online! N Self-explanatory. I wonder where we can find more codes online...?
Speed Demon Reach a speed of 100 km an hour! That's 62 miles an hour to you US and UK folks Y Tied to the achievement with the same name. If you're desperate to get it earlier, try riding up steep hills or mountains, then turn around and charge downwards; it is very possible to get it from a hill bomb in the Highlands. Else, boss jumps requiring a lot of speed (e.g. Peaks, Volcano, and Glaciers) are all but guaranteed to get you the requisite speed.
Training At Stoker Head back to Stoker Bike Park, and see if the Highlands Express has arrived yet N Spe didn't name the trail 'Locomotive' for no reason. From the start, follow the trail all the way down until you see the train tracks (and possibly the train). Jump over it to trigger 'Trainspotter' and complete this challenge.
Quite A Collection Unlock 50 items at The Shed! Earn items by completing Career runs -- the better you ride, the rarer the item! Y Tied to the achievement with the same name. Self-explanatory. You will earn more items the more runs you do (and you also earn some extra items from completing missions).
Unlock Career+ Oh, we're just getting started... Earn 100,000 REP to unlock Career+ Mode, and a whole bunch of new worlds to explore Y Self-explanatory.

The No More Robots Pro Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the No More Robots Jersey and Pants.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
Become A Pro Have you been leveling up with your team? Complete enough daily team objectives to be upgraded from Novice to Pro Y Self-explanatory. You need to complete 16 objectives total, so with 3 daily objectives a day, this can be done in at least 6 days.
Different Viewpoints Did you know you can choose from a range of different camera options? Press Y while riding to discover the selection N Self-explanatory.
Can't Sleep Without My Night Light Start a Career session, but ignore the boss jump. Keep visiting as many nodes as you can on one map, and see what happens N Self-explanatory. Spoiler alert: after 7 nodes it will change from morning to dusk; after another 2 nodes, it will change from dusk to night.
Get The Gang Together In a single Career session, hire three different coloured crew members Y Tied to the achievement with the same name. At minimum, this will require 9000 Rep. You will most likely require at least one of each type of crew member - Blue, Green, and Yellow. You must 'complete' a run - it is recommended to complete at the Peaks boss jump.
Shoot For The Moonjump It's time to learn the moonjump! Find the moonjump training area in the Overworld, and jump early on the ramp to moonjump the gap N Self-explanatory. The training area should be hard to miss. The height you can gain from these jumps can potentially help you cross some tough gaps - try seeing if you can utilise them to make the BikeOuts slightly easier.
Spiky At The Slope Have you visited Mt. Slope from the Bike Parks menu? There's a special spiky gap waiting for you there N It's not exactly a 'gap', but explore the map and find the loop de loop with spikes on it.
Honk Say hi to a fellow player! Equip any kind of horn accessory in The Shed, then ride up to another player and press (right stick) N Self-explanatory. Hopefully at this stage you have a horn.
Unlock Shortcut To Jungle Busy earnin'! In Career+ Mode, finish the Desert boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Jungle for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.

The Power Up Audio Pro Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the Power Up Audio Jersey and Pants.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
Anybody Home? Have you visited Alodalakes from the Bike Parks menu? There's a secret gap waiting for you there N You'll have to follow the main trail of this map to find a house to jump over. The jumps along the way are...not the best.
Oh No, Not BikeOut Again Remember the pain of BikeOut 2? You know the drill -- Bike Parks menu, select BikeOut 3, die inside N The BikeOut maps are notoriously challenging. Video guides can assist with getting past tricky sections. As always, don't be afraid to abuse manual session markers where possible; just be careful about setting a session marker in a terrible position and having to restart from the beginning as a result. Try using the Enduro bike for this one.
Bring A Friend It's always more fun with friends! Create a multiplayer lobby, and complete a Career level with a friend Y Tied to the achievement with the same name. Self-explanatory. You only need to complete 1 level together.
The Highlands Are Always Greener On The Other Side The easiest way to get the highest REP score in Career, is to beat every single node! Go to Highlands, and see if you can turn every node on the map green N You will have learnt from the earlier challenge that after 7 nodes it becomes dusk, and 2 nodes after that it becomes night. This one teaches you that after 2 night nodes your light dies. Enjoy completing nodes in the dark! (Or cheat by turning the gamma up.) Luckily, this does not require jumping the boss jump.
Unlock Shortcut To Favela Favela, ela, ela! In Career+ Mode, finish the Jungle boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Favela for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.
Replay It Again, Rosie The replay system in Descenders is a low-key powerful piece of kit. Save a replay at the end of a level! N Self-explanatory. Just find an easy map in Career or Career+ to complete, then save the replay when prompted.
Face-Planting A Seed Every level has a "seed": A set of numbers that define that level. Can you find a seed and enter it into FreeRide Mode? (Hint: Pause during a level, and look in the bottom right corner of the screen!) N Self-explanatory. Bike Parks seeds can also work.
True Descender The ultimate Descenders challenge. Complete a full Career run from Highlands to Peaks, finishing the game without losing all of your lives Y Tied to the achievement with (almost) the same name. Try to complete as many bonus objectives as possible in order to get more lives, to make your chances of surviving a whole run easier.

The Liquicity Pro Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the Liquicity Jersey and Pants.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
Bikeowwwwwt You know how this goes. Bike Parks menu, select BikeOut 4, curse the day that RageSquid was born N The BikeOut maps are notoriously challenging. Video guides can assist with getting past tricky sections. As always, don't be afraid to abuse manual session markers where possible; just be careful about setting a session marker in a terrible position and having to restart from the beginning as a result. Try using the Enduro bike for this one.
Become A Master Be the best in your team. Complete enough daily team objectives to be upgraded from Pro to Master Y Self-explanatory. You need to complete 32 objectives total (16 from Pro to Master only), so with 3 daily objectives a day, this can be done in at least 11 days (at least 6 days from Pro to Master only).
So Long, Career+ Beat the Glaciers boss jump to officially beat Career+ Mode. Congratulations! Only a few more Descenders secrets left to find... N Self-explanatory. If you can wait to complete this, you can potentially knock this out and a later challenge at one go...
It's Volcano, Not Volcan'to Start a Career session from Highlands, and jump through all four fire rings and fire boss jumps without losing all your lives. Volcano awaits you at the end. N Self-explanatory. Career mode's toughest challenge. Get as many lives as possible from bonus objectives and medic camps while attempting for this. You need to beat the Volcano boss jump to complete this mission; simply reaching the Volcano is not good enough.
Place In The Top 10 On Daily Challenge Prove your worth. Place in the top 10 on the leaderboards in any Daily Challenge N Self-explanatory. This gets more challenging throughout the day, so for best results, play the challenge as soon as it resets for the day.
Shiprekt Have you visited Descenders Island from the Bike Parks menu yet? There's a secret gap waiting for you there... N Follow the trail and look for the ship partially buried in sand. Jump off the sand ramp over the right side.
Get 250,000 Rep Ain't no scrub! Earn REP by playing through Career Mode by yourself or with friends Y Tied to Ain't No Scrub. Self-explanatory. This will take a while, but by this point you can easily farm Rep in the Desert.
Unlock Shortcut To Glaciers Chill out! In Career+ Mode, finish the Favela boss jump three times, each time completing the bonus objective. You'll unlock a shortcut to Glaciers for your efforts! Y Self-explanatory.

The RageSquid Pro Tour

Completing all 8 challenges in this tour will award the RageSquid Jersey and Pants.

Name Description Retroactive? Notes/Guide
Are You Insane? You've no doubt completed the Peaks boss jump plenty of times by now, but... have you ever tried jumping *over* the helicopter? N Hoo-boy. Are You Insane? is one of the most notoriously difficult and fun things to accomplish with the Peaks boss jump. Make sure you're going very fast when you hit the ramp, pull the sticks back so you don't crash on the ramp, fly off the ramp and over the helicopter. Can be done in Free ride and you don't actually need to land it, if that makes things easier...
Henk Of A Good Time Explore the Volcano thoroughly, and you may just find a secret bonus node... But can you collect all the toys? N Can be done in Freeride. If doing in Career, make sure to bring enough lives into the node (a tough ask as you need enough to go all the way from Highlands to Volcano in the first place). Self-explanatory; watch a video guide if you're having problems with any toy.
Ridge Over Troubled Water Start a Career+ session from Desert, and jump through all four fire rings and fire boss jumps without losing all your lives. Ridges awaits you at the end. N Self-explanatory. Career+ mode's toughest challenge. Get as many lives as possible from bonus objectives and medic camps while attempting for this. You need to beat the Ridges boss jump to complete this mission; simply reaching the Ridges is not good enough.
Get 1,000,000 Rep The Millionaire's Club! Earn REP by playing through Career Mode by yourself or with friends Y Self-explanatory. This will take even more time, but by now you're probably obsessed over playing high-rep runs for Lux bikes anyway...
The Golden Run Only the best can complete a Golden Run. Finish a full Career session, start to finish, on a single life without bailing Y Tied to the achievement with the same name. Probably the most difficult achievement there is. You can skip the Highlands and Forest boss jumps, but you cannot skip the Canyon and Peaks boss jumps. Play the game more until you can consistently do tricks without crashing - it is easy to fail at the Peaks boss jump. Pick appropriate Crew Members like Landing Impact and Prevent Modifiers that increase your chances of survival, and above all else, play safe instead of attempting riskier tricks. (If you've already done it before, thank your lucky stars that you don't have to do it again...)
Become A Descender Be the best in world. Complete enough daily team objectives to be upgraded from Master to Descender Y Self-explanatory. You need to complete 48 objectives total (16 from Master to Descender only), so with 3 daily objectives a day, this can be done in at least 16 days (at least 6 days from Pro to Master only).
What A Legend The ultimate Career+ challenge. Complete a full Career+ run from Desert to Glaciers, finishing the game without losing all of your lives N Try to complete as many bonus objectives as possible in order to get more lives, to make your chances of surviving a whole run easier.
True Descenders The ultimate friendship test. Make a Career lobby with a friend, then complete a full run from Highlands to Peaks, finishing the game without losing all of your collective lives N Co-ordinate with a (preferably skilled) friend that also has this challenge to complete. Try to complete as many bonus objectives as possible in order to get more lives, to make your chances of surviving a whole run easier.
