The following page is a list of all the April Fool's jokes that RageSquid have pulled off since the game's release. As is the case for all gaming-related April Fool's jokes, most of the side-effects are temporary and are usually reverted within a few days (though newly acquired items will be kept).
2018[]
On April 1st, 2018, Ascenders was released as a limited-time branch on Steam. This version of the game reversed the starting and finishing gates so players would have to bike uphill.
Completing the Highlands in this build awarded the player with a Fool Jersey which carried over to the normal game.
2019[]
There was no April Fool's joke for 2019.
2020[]
On April 1st, 2020, a patch was pushed to the game under the guise of making equipment choice much simpler, as the game has over 600 items.
In reality, this update:
- Changed the textures of all jersies to jersies that featured the developers' faces on them
- Made every handlebar item give off the Whoopee Cushion noise when the horn button is used, and
- Gave everyone that logged in the Rosie, Roel, Lex, Jeroendumb, Uwotmate, and Pip jersies.
2021[]
While there was no large-scale April Fool's joke in 2021, an announcement was made in the Discord server with redeem codes for ostensibly full coloured Lux sets. In reality, they all gave the Fool Jersey instead.
